The 5th World Landslide Forum is underway in Kyoto, Japan from 3-6 November 2021 as a hybrid event. All details are available on the WLF5 web page.

– Dr Mikoš was Co-Chair of the High-level Panel Discussion “Review of KLC2020 and the way forward”
– Dr Mikoš was Co-Chair of the “KLC2020 Multi-hazard Round Table Discussion”
– Dr Mikoš was a Convener of a session on “Education and Capacity Development for Risk Management and Risk Governance”

During the Recognition and Awards Ceremony on the 1st Forum day, the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering, University of Ljubljana was awarded the title of the World Centre of Excellence on Landslide Disaster Risk Reduction 2020-2023. More on that can be found here.
On the last day of the WLF5, 6 November 2021, Dr Mikoš stepped down as the Chair of the IPL Evaluation Committee and was elected Chairman of the Global Promotion Committee of the International Programme on Landslides.
