Themes of the 16th Benchmark Workshop
16th International Benchmark Workshop on Numerical Analysis of Dams
University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering, 5 – 6 April 2022, online
The design and maintenance of existing dams are a challenge for the whole engineering community. Numerical modelling has become an indispensable tool for design and safety assessment of dams. The ICOLD Committee on “Computational Aspects of Dam Analysis and Design” has, during its long activity, organizes Benchmark Workshops with the aim to provide an opportunity for engineers, researchers, and operators to present and exchange their experiences and the latest developments related to the proper use of numerical modelling for design, performance evaluation and safety assessment of dams.
In the scope of the Benchmark Workshop 3 Themes were organized and the related data (description of the problem, formulation of the task and corresponding data can be found below).
1. Theme A: Dam behaviour prediction: description, formulation, data.
2. Theme B: AAR affected dam: description, formulation, data.
3. Theme C: Behaviour of the embankment dam: description, formulation, data morphology, data.
Proceedings of the workshop are available HERE and description of the event is available HERE.
