The UN 2023 Water Conference, starting on 22 March, 2023 is the first UN Water Conference since 46 years!

UNESCO is a partner in 26 side events taking place, starting 20 March, in parallel to the official conference programme. At the Conference, UNESCO will also be proposing a Global water assessment that could be a game-changer for reaching the world’s water goals.

The side events are being organized by Member States with UNESCO and various United Nations agencies and other stakeholders, to contribute directly to the conference’s outcomes. Details of UNESCO’s contributions to the UN 2023 Water Conference can be seen here.

Registration and participation in those UNESCO side events that can be followed online will be made available soonest through the dedicated UNESCO web page, where you will also find a full list of side events.

Another contribution to the UN 2023 Water Conference is the launch of the 2023 UN World Water Development Report, led by the World Water Assessment Programme of UNESCO (WWAP) on behalf of UN-Water, and the celebration of World Water Day 2023.
