The International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS) in 2023 started the 3rd Scientific Decade entitled HELPING – Science For Water Solutions Decade (2023-2032). How it came about, can also be read in an EGU blog contribution from September 6, 2023. The name HELPING stands for Hydrology Engaging Local People IN one Global world. More on this Scientific Decade can be read in a Concept Note. The activities are organised in HELPING Themes and Working Groups.
Dr. Bezak is co-chairing a Working Group on “Acceptance of Nature-based solutions & their implementation in guidelines” under Theme 2: HELPING with holistic solutions for water security.
Dr. Mikoš joined a Working Group on “Strategic UN-Collaboration Group (SCG-Hydro)” under Theme 3: HELPING with Cross-Cutting Goal. After its first Meeting on April 5, 2024, the WG changed its name to “Strategic UN-Synergy Group (SUN)”.
