Recently the International Consortium on Landslides (ICL) started a new open access book series titled Progress in Landslide Research and Technology, printed by Springer Nature. The goals and aims of this new voluntary contribution of the ICL to the ISDR-ICL Sendai Partnerships 2015–2025, the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030, the 2030 United Nations Agenda Sustainable Development Goals, the New Urban Agenda, and the Paris Climate Agreement are into detail described in a journal Landslides’ article by Sassa (2021). This first two issues are also a contribution of the ICL to the IXth phase of the Intergovernmental Hydrological Program of UNESCO (IHP-IX).
