Dr. Mikoš gave a talk entitled “Monitoring News to Detect Extreme Weather Events” on May 24, 2024 as a guest speaker at the newly launched inititative AI 4 Water Sustainability Challenge – this initiative seeks to harness artificial intelligence (AI) to create innovative solutions addressing critical water sustainability issues, aligned with several of the UN’s Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) – a partner among others such as AI in Africa and GITEX is also the International Research Centre on Artificial Intelligence (IRCAI), under the auspices of UNESCO, and its recently opened IRCAI Committee on AI and Water Resources Management.
