A 2-year collaborative research project entitled “Rainfall interception experimentation and modelling for enhanced impact analysis of nature-based solutions” was approved and will start on October 1, 2021.

The project will focus on:
● Improvement of the understanding of the rainfall interception process in urban environments;
● Evaluation of the urban hydrology model’s performance from the rainfall interception perspective;
● Apply the refined model for upscaling and impact analysis of blue-green solutions at city district scale.
These objectives are in line with Sustainable Development Goals Agenda 2030 of the UN: SDG 3: Good health and well-being for people; SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation; SDG 11: Sustainable cities and communities; SDG 13: Climate action; SDG 15: Life on land, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
