The journal UJMA (since 1987) publishes peer-reviewed popular scientific, professional, and scientific papers. It also publishes discussions, brief reports on disasters, literature reviews in the field of protection against natural and other disasters. It covers typical natural disasters (such as earthquakes, floods, landslides, hail, frost, drought) and other disasters (such as technical, industrial, environmental) from various aspects (risk governance, humanities, social sciences, and technical sciences). Special attention is paid to prevention with the focus on research, rescue, and reconstruction in the Republic of Slovenia and South-Eastern Europe. This open-access journal is published annually by the Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief of the Ministry of Defence and has a circulation of 1800 copies.
